Wasabi's Story
Q: How do you create your own work?
When the subject matter is open-ended, I start by choosing a theme color or motif,then incorporate elements I like that fit the theme.
This time, I wanted to create a painting with a soothing, heartwarming atmosphere using yellow as the main color,so I decided on motifs such as the moon, stars, honey, and rabbits.
Q: What is your source of inspiration?
I love small three-dimensional objects, so I collect and examine things like cosmetics, dolls, and figurines,and I keep up with the latest fashion and seasonal sweets.
This time, I was inspired while looking at trendy, sparkly 3D stickers.
Q: What do you want to convey through your illustrations?
I love drawing cute, appetizing illustrations that look like sweets,
and since these kinds of images bring me comfort every day,
I’d be happy if they could make viewers’ hearts flutter and add a little color to their lives.
