History of XART

The innovative product development philosophy and unconventional ideas that underlie XART were born from the founder's extensive experience at ZOZO. Through his experience there, the founder gained a deep understanding of the importance of innovation in the fashion technology field and a business model that is competitive in the global market. This valuable experience became the foundation for XART to create new value by combining illustration and technology.

The founder previously led the development of dynamic pricing algorithms based on consumer behavior. The data-driven approach and customer-centric thinking he developed during this time form the core of XART's product development and business strategy. His experience in the fashion tech industry is an essential element of XART's mission to provide a platform for illustrators to fully showcase their talents and have their work spread around the world.

The founder's personal network has led XART to cooperate with well-known companies both in Japan and overseas, and to become the first company in the world to obtain ILFORD certification for giclee reproductions of original paintings, providing a strong foundation for creating a place for illustrators to shine. We pursue innovation through the fusion of illustration and technology in order to deliver the talents of illustrators to the world.

XART continues to pursue the fusion of technology and art, providing the best stage for illustrators. By utilizing the latest color management technology, nanotechnology, biomimetic technology, and traditional crafts, we strive to improve the material added value by giving mass to digital data. In addition, through collaboration with traditional crafts, we explore new expressions by fusing traditional techniques such as Kyoto folding fans and embroidery, which have a history of 1200 years, with digital art.

Since its founding, XART has aimed to be more than just a company that produces goods featuring beautiful girl illustrations. We pursue the idea of " slow items ," providing a platform for illustrators to flourish, and taking a responsible stance towards culture and the environment through products that are sustainable and have intrinsic value. In 2016, when XART was launched, we set a vision of being more than just a company, but a group with a mission to brighten the future of illustrators and build a sustainable consumer culture.

We do everything from illustration production, goods production, event management, sales and advertising for beautiful girl art. XART's mascot character, Emori Mirai , has 225,000 followers on Twitter, and is followed by HIKAKIN . Art pieces are the main product, carefully produced in small quantities, and are manufactured and sold for customers who sincerely appreciate high-quality art products. In addition to collaborating with global companies such as DNP Dai Nippon Printing, XART has worked with a hermit from the Southern Alps who receives framing requests from all over Japan, a printing craftsman who receives requests from a world-famous art museum, and a traditional craftsman from Kyoto, and while showing deep respect for the culture, skills and traditions of manufacturing, XART has repeatedly innovated in the application, utilization and design of new technical materials, greatly pushing the boundaries of knowledge and invention in printing technology.

SNIDE FOX

We at XART are passionate about creating artworks that combine tradition and innovation. The "Snide Fox" is a brand icon that embodies this philosophy and is a satirical piece of art to modern consumer society. The fox is depicted with a mocking expression, scorning the inferior products that flood the market, and also symbolizes the creation of sophisticated high-end items.

In Japan, foxes have long been depicted as wise yet mischievous spirits in many stories and folklore. A modern interpretation of these traditional images, Snide Fox translates their cleverness and cunning into their role as protectors of consumers in the modern marketplace. The simple yet striking design makes this unique character instantly identifiable and reinforces the brand identity.
